Divorce: BadAsk yourselves this. Are gay people really a threat to the “sanctity of marriage”. Do loving gay persons have anything to do with the sky-rocketing divorce rate? Or single-parent households? Or adultery?Divorce-aholic

I think not.

Let’s employ a little logic here:

Married people (a term which only extends to heterosexual couples at this writing) are responsible for the dismal state of marriage. Those who have been married are responsible for the divorce rate. Those who are already married are responsible for adultery. Those who are or have been “married” are to blame for any lack of “sanctity” in marriage. Married people are the real threat to marriage!

Gay people have nothing to do with it.

The fact is that gay people are going to continue to love each other and have monogamous relationships sanctified in their hearts, by their families and by God no matter what opponents of gay marriage say or do. This is the way it is.

So opponents of gay marriage: wake up and smell the love.

Love

The girl can’t help but make money. Disney is paying her millions to write her “memoirs”. She is 15 years old. 15!!!!

And I can’t say that I don’t want to read it. She smiles rainbows and butterflies and world peace. We’ll all end up working for her someday. Might as well find out how it all began. Reserve your copy today. Sigh.

Hillary was expected to win Pennsylvania and she did.  No surprise there.  But, is this prolonged battle between Clinton and Obama going to benefit the Democrats’ chance of getting back into the White House?

I stand by my previous assertion: No.

It’s my opinion that the Democratic primary has further divided a deeply divided society.  Hope has been smashed on the backs of hard-working Americans across the socio-political spectrum.  I think people feel lied-to, betrayed and mislead by all of the candidates.  And I feel that cynicism about our government has not been defeated.  In fact, cynicism reigns supreme.

So, why do I feel that McCain will be stepping into the Oval Office come November?

Because the Democrats are simply circus clowns and Republicans the ring masters (and the concessions cart and ticket takers).

And also, people have a long and nuanced memory of McCain’s career.  He’s been up, he’s been down, he’s been all around in the public’s conscience. They may dislike him.  They may not agree with him or trust him or think he is the best man for the job.  But, no one can argue that McCain hasn’t been serving our country his whole life in good ways and bad.

Things could change.  And I hope they do.  The Republicans need the boot!!!  McCain is NOT the best man for the job.  But, Hillary and Obama have got to stop thinking about themselves and start thinking about the common good.  And Pennsylvania’s results have just added more fuel to the fire.  Sigh.

Oil PumpOil prices keep on climbing.  Up, up and away!

Seems that it’s past time to start retooling our energy policy.  We really can’t wait till November.  Solar panels, wind turbines, electric vehicles, bicycles and mass transit.  It doesn’t a take a rocket scientist to figure out a solution.  Only someone with common sense and whose pockets haven’t been lined by ExxonMobil.
