Pain at the PumpTurns out Russia doesn’t have an endless supply of oil after all. Better halt construction on Moscow’s countless multi-million dollar condos which are popping up all over the city like weeds.

Pain at the pump much? I suppose I don’t have to spell out to everyone why this news sucks the big one. Hmmm. What to do when the oil runs dry? … Calling Al Gore

On a more positive note: I guess this means there is no reason to invade Russia.

WheatExpect to start paying a lot more for staple foods in the coming months as more and more countries ban food exports due to depleted food stocks. Kazakhstan and Indonesia are the latest in a growing number of countries to ban foreign sales of wheat and rice.

This spells trouble. Double trouble for North American and many Western European consumers as prices for basic goods begin to sky rocket.

First oil. Then housing. Then the weakening dollar. Now grain.

What can you do to lessen the incoming blow to your pocket book? Try alternative foods. And eat locally and sustainably grown produce - but be ready to be bombarded with genetically-modified crops.
